     Robert S. Miner was born on 17 July 1937. He died on 28 November 2009 at age 72; Robert "Scotty" Scott Miner, 72

Robert "Scotty" Scott Miner, 72, of Mapleville Road in Boonsboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Green Ridge State Park, Cumberland, Md.
Born on July 17, 1937, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late George S. and Ruth I. (Ebersole) Miner.
Scotty spent his career in military service enlisting in 1960 in the United States Air Force. He was discharged in 1997 from the 167th Airlift Wing of the West Virginia Air National Guard.
Scotty was a lifelong member of Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, where he sang tenor in the church choir for many years; and sang with various special music groups and quartets, and with the church's Living Christmas Tree and other musical presentations. He was a church deacon and finance board member.
Scotty served as a member of the board of directors of Antietam Bible College and Biblical Seminary and Graduate School. He also sang with the Apple Capital Chorus in Winchester, Va. He was also a member of Beaver Creek Country Club in Hagerstown. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0297.
Scotty grew up as a dedicated athlete, hunter and avid outdoorsman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He, most of all, had a faithful relationship with the Lord.
Scotty is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce D. (Beard) Miner; two sons, Daryl L. Miner and his wife Karen of Boonsboro, Md., and Bryan C. Miner of Hagerstown; two brothers, Ronald L. Miner of Boonsboro, and Larry W. Miner of Hagerstown. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ryan Miner of Hagerstown, Whitney Sheppard of Boonsboro, Tammy Horst of State Line, Pa., Melissa Ward of Sharpsburg, Md., Denise Scadden of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Matthew Scadden of Maugansville, Md; five great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Rodney Miner, Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. William H. Freed Jr. and the Rev. R. William Wyand will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown.
Friends are invited to call beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at the funeral home. Family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
