David E Duffey

     David E Duffey died on 15 June 2013; David F. Duffey, 75, of Hagerstown, Md., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his home.
Born in Funkstown, Md., on July 12, 1937, he was the son of Ellis G. and Jane Duffey.
Dave graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1955, and attended Hagerstown Junior College. He was employed by Mack Trucks for 32 years before retirement in 1994. While at Mack, he belonged to Junior Achievement, Dream Come True, and mentored two boys, Tony and Todd, through the Big Brothers program. Dave was a lifelong member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, where he served on the church board, sang in the temple choir and was also a deacon.
Dave was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara, whom he married July 18, 1958. Also surviving are three daughters and their families, Jill Duffey, Anne Jessop and husband, Chuck, Pamela Duffey-Nairn and husband, Dennis, and six grandchildren, Alexa, Garrett, Cole, Isaiah, Nic and Elijah; a brother, Ellis Duffey and wife, Peggy; sisters, Miriam Andrews and husband, Richard, and Barbara Starliper; and many nieces and nephews.
As was Dave’s wish, his body was donated to science for medical research.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, 15 S. Mulberry St., Hagerstown. Family will receive friends at the church Saturday at 9:30 a.m
