     Her married name was Semler. Joan Marie Miller married Charles E. Semler. She was born on 21 September 1937. She died on 20 October 2014 at Sharpsburg, Md, at age 77; JOAN MARIE SEMLER, 77, of Sharpsburg, MD, died at home on Monday,
October 20,2014.
Joan was born in Hagerstown, MD, on September 21, 1937. She was the
daughter of the late George S. and Julia V. Winters Miller.
Joan was of the Christian faith.
Joan worked in Medical Records and Patient Accounts at Washington County
Hospital. After retiring, Joan became a hospital volunteer and worked at the Repeat
Performance Thrift Shop until her illness.
Joan was a graduate of Hagerstown High School, class of 1955.
Joan is survived by her husband, Charles E. Semler; son, Paul Raison and wife
Kim and grandchildren Brian, Kevin, Matthew, and Rebecca Raison; son, George (Jim)
Raison and wife Kathy and grandchildren Paul, Clifford, Andrew, and Daniel Raison;
step-daughter, Catherine (Ginny) Blackwell and husband David and grandchildren,
Joshua and Emily Middlekauff and Colton Blackwell; step-daughter, Tammy Stottlemyer
and husband Bryan and grandchildren Jacob, Benjamin, and Trisha Stottlemyer; sisters,
Susan Hissong and husband Kevin, Mary Jane Bush and husband Jeff; sister-in-law,
Joyce Miller; great granddaughters, Julianna Raison and Hailee Middlekauff; and nieces
and nephews.
In addition to Joan's parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother,
George A. Miller; and sister, Betty Ella Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct 28,2014 at 1 :OO pm at Minnich
Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, with the Reverend Ann
Weatherholt officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery Sharpsburg Md.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, October 27,2014 from 7 to 9pm
at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to Hospice
of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
