     Gary Ausherman married Juanita Leanora Klipp on 18 May 1956; Gary and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary May 18, 2006. I retired from Washington Township Supervisors office (PA local government) and Gary retired from Mack Trucks. We have two daughters and one son, six grandsons, and two beautiful great-granddaughters. He died on 22 March 2017; Gary L. Ausherman, 81, of Waynesboro, Pa., died Wednesday evening, March 22, 2017, in his home.
Born in Chewsville, Md., on Feb. 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Russell C. and Edna Irene (Baechtel) Ausherman.
He was employed by Mack Trucks for 29 1/2 years, retiring in 1991. He was a lifetime member of Fraternal of Order of Eagles Aerie 1758, Waynesboro Eagles Club Inc., Waynesboro, for 45 years, and retired from United Auto Workers Local Union 171.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita “Petie” (Klipp) Ausherman, whom he married May 18, 1956; children, Vicki Welty and husband, John, of Waynesboro, son, James Ausherman and wife, Rebecca, of Greencastle, Pa., daughter, Patricia Jones and husband, Kevin, of St. Thomas, Pa; sister, Bette Jane Longanecker of Hagerstown, Md; two brothers, Russell Ausherman and Jack Ausherman of Hagerstown; grandsons, Adam Welty and wife, Lexy, Lukas Welty, Heath Ausherman and Cody Ausherman, Dustin Smith and wife, Jessica, and Kyle Carbaugh; and three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Smith, Haley Carbaugh and Archer Welty.
He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Linda, and sisters, Maxine Marcey, Mary Clark, Edna Hoover, Jeanne Monn and Nancy Hebb.
It was his request that he be cremated. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
For friends and family, a celebration of his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Savoy Catering, 11655 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro.
